On finding your tribe, inclusion, and the dirty secret to cold emailing.
"Its hard because it’s a long game, and I think people get frustrated with how long sometimes it can take, but you have to be willing to put in that time. And to stick it out. If you do, it will pay off so much." -Natalie Metzger
Happy (almost) Tuesday, everyone!
This week's episode is a bit tardy, I know, but better late than never. I'm in the thick of production on this amazing doc about women in comedy, which makes it challenging to adhere to my own high standards to create the best possible episode for you!
And of course the germs of flu season found their way into my body, and so I've also been sick. Eekk. Looking forward to a break soon...(puts tiny violin away) But the show MUST GO ON, ladies and germs!I am so excited to share my chat with the wonderful Natalie Metzger, producer and VP of production & development Vanishing Angle.Natalie has a spark for producing that is palpable.
The joy oozes out of her pores, and despite the inherent challenges, it's clear that she loves her job so much. She was a dancer and choreographer before she set her foot in the world of filmmaking, which I bet is where her glee comes from. In her journey, she’s produced and directed a ton of notable projects.
But, she's also produced silly and fun things, like the hilarious music video for Lil Dicky’s FREAKY FRIDAY, which boasts over 554 million views on YouTube. Most recently, she produced Jim Cummings’ newest film THE WEREWOLF (MGM/Orion) and GREENER GRASS which came out this past Friday, October 18th in theaters and on demand!
Suburban soccer moms find themselves constantly competing against each other in their personal lives as their kids settle their differences on the field.
Our chat couldn't have come at a better time. Given how overworked I've been these past few months, it served as a great reminder to stop and smell the roses...of why I love what I do. In our hour together, Natalie and I uncover how to find your tribe, creating a more inclusive work place, and the dirty secret to cold emailing.

Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this week’s episode!
